Eat More Meals & Lose Weight

 

Try to eat more often.  There is a catch – you need to eat smaller meals, and spread them out every 3-4 hours.  Avoid eating like most do – by eating three large meals.  Rather, eat five to six bigger meals, beginning with breakfast.

 

Most people run out of the door and begin the day without eating breakfast, this robs them of energy and lowers the metabolism.  Eating more often will increase your metabolism so long as eat smart.  Being satisfied longer with shorter breaks between meals helps you to avoid binge eating and will help you to avoid the post-meal sugar spike and crash.

 

Write It Down

Try not to cut out bad foods cold turkey, but substitute your favorites with a healthy alternative.  You need to lower your caloric intake while remaining satisfied, so try substitutions like eating a grilled chicken sandwich versus a burger, or go with a veggie burger instead.

For snacking, you can try high fiber snacks like raw almonds or even vegetables.  When you get the craving for some junk food, be sure there are healthier substitutes.

 

More Low Density Foods

 

Try eating more foods that are nutritious and lower in calories per serving.  This would include vegetables, which you can practically fill up on without blowing your calorie count.  Conversely, you can only eat so many french fries or ice cream before reaching a critical limit.  You get more food with lower fat and calorie varieties.

 

More Fiber

 

Try to eat more meals that include fibrous foods.  These tend to be lower in calories by nature, such as beans and all sorts of vegetables.  The benefits are that the fiber will fill you up, it will help prevent fat from being absorbed, and will help digestion.
